Mountains!

This is mount lemon highway in Tucson, Arizona. Its one of my favorite rides, probably in the world. It starts at 3000 feet and within 22 miles climbs to nearly 9000 feet while going through 6 or 7 different vegetation zones; its bliss. After several months in the flat lands of Florida...my 65 year old friend Bob (who is quite amazing) chased me up this mountain. I had to turn around before Milepost 10, but Bob and Suze kept climbing all the way to Milepost 20. I'm headed out there now...to do it all again.

Visit to CR...never hurts!

It should really be called Ahhhhh..shiatsu. This past weekend I ventured to our property in Lenox, Massachusetts in the Berkshires of Western Mass. The weather could not have been any better. With all my stress, I decided I was long over due for a massage with all the tension currently held within my neck and shoulders. During my massage, the therapist said..."whoah, you've got a demon here in your shoulder...you need to get him out."

I said, "its my project in Miami Beach...its the weight of the world resting right there on them."

He then said..."you've got to get him out, you've got to get him out. I don't think I can work that deep."

So...I then booked for the deep pressure stuff; Ashiatsu. Let me tell you what this is like...

Imagine a dark room, with candles burning and some native american flute rthyms playing subtlely in the walls. A richly linen bed lays before you waiting your tired body. Laying face down with nothing but your skin against the thick silk sheets laying atop a plush bed , a therapist rubs a warm oil along your spine, back and limbs. With grace, power, precision and extreme gentleness...the therapist uses the wooden bars overhead to control her weight as she stands then skates along the biggest muscles of your legs, buttock, back and shoulders. Like a choreographed ballet, the movements are strong and beautiful and I can feel the joy and the energy of her movement; she enjoys her work. My muscles warm and awaken to the pressure as they fill with blood to heal the days activities and the stress of weeks gone by.

Yes, they should call it Ahhhhhshiatsu. I'll call it perfect.

Do Blondes Have More Fun?

So this is Iris; She is actually one of the sane ones I have met in my experiences of Miami Beach (or so I think because that is largely based on the assumption I am sane). The picture on the left is Iris before she decided to experiment if "Blondes Have More Fun." Well...on Thursday afternoon, Iris and I happen to be on the same plane headed to Boston. She showed up at the airport counter (unbeknownst to me) as a blonde. I was thinking to myself...gosh that is such a Miami person (boot heels, blonde, lots of luggage, voice that travels as she's on the cell phone). WAIT, I know that voice, its Iris!!!! Note picture on the Right. As Iris and I flew to Boston then departed the airplane, it was amazing to watch the men in the airport; it was like Moses and the parting of the Red Sea. Men were watching Iris (and she noticed it too). People were whispering (I think they were asking each other if it was Britney Spears). Although people took notice, and Iris was having fun with it...we concluded that her new look was fun for a while, yet it offered less depth to the REAL Iris. Oh well...just another day in Miami or...was it Boston????

Never a Bad Day...

View from my apartment balcony. I really can't complain (and even if I did, no one would listen)...and it makes a rough day at the office not seem all that bad. The view is toward the North: bridge in the distance is 195 into Miami Beach (41st Street).

Sending me to Miami

This was my one of my send offs to Miami from my house in Tucson. Di, Suze, Mark, Erica and my sister Leslie all visited and played in the desert sun.

Diving the Keys with Larry

my dive instructor, Larry. Larry also takes some great digital images, loves to teach scuba (been doing it for over 30 years) and seeks a beer upon landing topside.

a very cool angel fish.

my dive buddy today...suze!

a jewfish or now (to be politically correct) a giant grouper; big and huge, if it were dangerous, it would be scary...see my wide eyes?
